Anam Cara

“According to Celtic spiritual tradition, the soul shines all around the body like a luminous cloud. When you are very open, appreciative, and trusting with another person, your two souls flow together. This deeply felt bond with another person means you have found your anam cara, or “Soul Friend.” ~ John O’Donohue

The Anam Cara relationship provides you with a spiritual director, unconditional listener and advisor. Someone with a mature spiritual practice and intuitive wisdom who is able to help you recognise and listen to your own heart song.

In a professional context, it might look  a little bit like coaching but it is not necessarily aimed at getting you to a particular outcome. Neither is it counselling.   There is no agenda around “fixing” your problems –  in relationship to Source or Spirit, you are already perfect. It is a bit like to talking to a priest, and although I am a minister,  I have no religious agenda as Anamcara. I will alwasy meet you where you are.

The Anam Cara relationship helps you to remember who you are, and it helps to guide you on your personal journey with more clarity.

An Anamcara session can take a number of approaches but is essentially embodied. I may offer meditation, breathing and centering techniques, embodied wisdom, poetry, prayer, mantra and (if I see you in person) hands on energy healing.

I am here to be this for you if you feel that is what your heart is seeking. I can offer this in a number of ways, from regular guidance sessions, informal online dialogue, mentoring or support.

I work with the utmost integrity and regard for confidentiality. We set out our boundaries and goals as a contract at the beginning of the relationship.

“Your anam cara always beholds your light and beauty, and accepts you for who you truly are. In Celtic spirituality, the anam cara friendship awakens the fullness and mystery of your life. You are joined in an ancient and eternal union with humanity that cuts across all barriers of time, convention, philosophy, and definition. When you are blessed with an anam cara, the Irish believe, you have arrived at that most sacred place: home.” ~ John O’Donohue
